The new coaching staff includes bench coach Luis Urueta, assistant pitching coach Dave Bush, bullpen coach Jordan Tiegs, and assistant hitting coach Justin Viele. Bush, who spent the 2024 season as the Rangers’ director of pitching strategy, brings extensive MLB experience, having coached with the Boston Red Sox for several years.

Urueta joins the Rangers after a stint as the Miami Marlins’ bench coach and a long tenure with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. Tiegs, who has been with the Rangers since 2019, moves up from pitching coordinator to bullpen coach. Viele, formerly the San Francisco Giants’ hitting coach, adds his expertise after five seasons in San Francisco and a prior role with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

These new hires complement the seven returnees, including pitching coach Mike Maddux, third base coach Tony Beasley, and first base coach Corey Ragsdale. The Rangers are poised for another competitive season with a well-rounded coaching staff under Bochy’s leadership.
