BREAKING: 5 Star Oklahoma tight end transfer confirms flip Auburn
With the early signing period concluded, Auburn football is now shifting its focus to strengthening the roster through the transfer portal.
Tight end remains a key area of need for the Tigers, and they are set to host Oklahoma transfer Bauer Sharp for a visit, according to multiple reports. A native of Dothan, Sharp played the 2024 season at Oklahoma after spending his first three years at Southeastern Louisiana. This season, he led the Sooners in receiving with 42 catches for 324 yards and two touchdowns, including a performance against Auburn where he recorded four receptions for 43 yards.
During his time at Southeastern Louisiana, Sharp tallied 40 receptions for 366 yards and four touchdowns over three seasons following his redshirt year in 2021. He also contributed on the ground, rushing for 216 yards and five touchdowns.
Auburn’s tight end room is undergoing significant turnover. Rivaldo Fairweather and Luke Deal, who logged most of the 2024 snaps, have exhausted their eligibility, and sophomore tight end Micah Riley has announced his intention to enter the transfer portal.
The Tigers have added freshmen tight ends Ryan Ghea and Hollis Davidson during the early signing period. They join returning players Brandon Frazier and Rico Lewis.
Reports indicate that Sharp will visit Auburn on Thursday, with the transfer portal officially opening on Monday, Dec. 9.
