BREAKING: 5 star WR announces transfer commitment to Texas A&M
Former Mississippi State wide receiver has announced he will transfer to Texas A&M. After entering the transfer portal on December 9, Carver confirmed his commitment via social media on Tuesday, simply posting, “Gig Em.” The talented wideout will have three years of eligibility remaining.
As a true freshman in 2024, Carver made an impact for the Bulldogs, hauling in 17 receptions for 368 yards and three touchdowns. He ranked fourth on the team in both catches and receiving yards.
Before his time in Starkville, Carver was a star at Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson, Alabama. A 4-star recruit, he was rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 49 wide receiver and the No. 18 overall prospect in Alabama for the 2024 recruiting class. Carver initially chose Mississippi State over significant interest from Georgia, Arkansas, and Auburn. He was a key part of the Bulldogs’ 2024 recruiting class but now becomes one of 24 MSU players to enter the transfer portal.
Carver is the fifth portal addition for the Aggies so far, joining fellow wide receiver Micah Hudson, quarterback Jacob Zeno, tight end Micah Riley, and cornerback Julian Humphrey. The Aggies were in need of wide receiver depth after Jabre Barber and Jahdae Walker exhausted their eligibility in 2024.
Texas A&M finished the 2024 season with an 8-4 record and is set to face the USC Trojans in the Las Vegas Bowl on Friday, December 27.
