BREAKING Boston Red Sox to bolster rotation with World Series star
Boston Red Sox have agreed to a one-year, $21.05 million deal, per Jeff Passan of ESPN.
In free agency, Buehler was seen as a high-upside pitcher unlikely to command a long-term contract. During the 2024 regular season with the Dodgers, he posted a 5.38 ERA but finished strong with 10 scoreless innings across his final three outings, including the playoffs.
The 30-year-old emerged as one of the best young starters during his rookie campaign in 2018, recording a 2.82 ERA. Over his career with the Dodgers, he earned two All-Star nods in 2019 and 2021. However, Buehler missed the entire 2023 season due to Tommy John surgery and faced additional injuries in 2024, limiting him to just 16 starts.

Despite these setbacks, his impressive postseason performance bolstered his value in the free-agent market, making him a key acquisition for the Red Sox heading into the 2025 season.
