BOOOOM!!! Its Official 5 star LB signs with Ohio State
Ohio State has bolstered its linebacker corps by adding prominent star, a standout transfer from Duquesne. Howard, who earned first-team All-NEC honors in 2024, announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Sunday.
Howard’s impressive season included 52 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, three interceptions, four pass breakups, and a fumble recovery in just nine games. He also had takeaways in four consecutive games, highlighted by a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown against St. Francis.
Joining Howard at Ohio State is his younger brother, incoming freshman running back Bo Jackson. Both arrived in Columbus as midyear enrollees. While Ohio State has yet to formally announce Howard’s signing, Villa Angela-St. Joseph coach Jeff Rotsky confirmed to Eleven Warriors that Howard will be on scholarship. This is possible under new roster rules taking effect in 2025, allowing teams to carry up to 105 scholarship players, though Ohio State is expected to retain some walk-ons.

Howard, a 6-foot, 200-pound linebacker with two years of eligibility remaining, is expected to provide depth for the Buckeyes. Ohio State’s projected starting linebackers for next season include Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese, with younger players such as Payton Pierce, Garrett Stover, Tarvos Alford, Riley Pettijohn, and Eli Lee adding to the mix. Additionally, C.J. Hicks could see time at linebacker or transition to edge rusher if defensive coordinator Jim Knowles revives the Jack position in the Buckeyes’ defense.
