BREAKING: Auburn Tigers Lands 5 star commitment From Transfer Portal Over Kentucky
The Auburn Tigers have secured their second defensive lineman from the transfer portal this cycle. Defensive lineman, formerly of Sam Houston State, has committed to Auburn, choosing the Tigers over Kentucky, which had been predicted to land him.
Murray, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound redshirt junior from Wichita Falls, Texas, brings significant experience. During his time at Sam Houston State, he appeared in 14 games, recording 52 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, a pass deflection, and two forced fumbles. Before joining Sam Houston State, Murray spent the 2022 season with TCU.
Rated as a three-star transfer by 247Sports, Murray ranks as the No. 492 overall player and the No. 54 edge rusher in the portal. In high school, he was ranked No. 460 nationally and the No. 58 defensive lineman in the class of 2021, per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Murray joins former Texas A&M defensive lineman Dallas Walker IV as Auburn’s latest additions at the position. They fill spots left by Gage Keys and T.J. Lindsey, who transferred out. With two years of eligibility remaining, Murray’s experience will help guide Auburn’s incoming freshmen, including five-star recruits Jared Smith and Malik Autry, along with three other freshmen set to provide depth in 2025.
In total, Auburn has seen 19 players transfer out and has brought in 15 additions via the portal.
The Tigers currently rank fourth in 247Sports’ portal rankings, trailing Texas Tech, Ole Miss, and LSU.
