Buccaneers bench Jake Camarda and send a clear message about his future

The Bills have signed punter Jake Camarda to a reserve/future contract for the 2025 season, the team announced Tuesday.

Reserve/future contracts allow teams to retain rights to players who did not finish the previous season on a 53-man roster, including practice squad members and free agents.

Bucs rookie Jake Camarda is bombing in the NFL, in a good way

Camarda, 25, hailing from Norcross, Georgia, was a fourth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2022 NFL Draft. He earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors in September 2023 and finished that season with an impressive 50-yard punting average.

However, the Buccaneers released Camarda in October during the 2024 season.

A former standout at Georgia (2018–2021), Camarda was a two-time First-Team All-SEC selection (2020, 2021) and was named the 2020 SEC Special Teams Player of the Year.
