The Georgia Bulldogs have secured their second safety commitment of the day, as UAB transfer has announced he is flipping from his recent pledge to the Florida Gators and will suit up “between the hedges” next season. Earlier in the day, Georgia also added Miami transfer Jaden Harris. Both Maddox and Harris are Georgia natives, with Maddox having played high school football at Heritage in Conyers.

Maddox delivered a strong performance during his single season at UAB, recording 44 tackles, eight passes defended, two forced fumbles, and a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown. Prior to his time at UAB, Maddox played at Alabama State, where he tallied 90 tackles, 10 passes defended, and two interceptions.

The additions of Maddox and Harris come at a critical time for Georgia as the team addresses significant defensive losses. Two-time All-American Malaki Starks declared for the NFL yesterday, while veteran leader Dan Jackson has exhausted his eligibility. Additionally, depth players Jake Pope and David Daniel-Sisavanh have departed.

Georgia’s activity in the transfer portal isn’t over yet. The Bulldogs are expected to pursue another defensive back and potentially an EDGE rusher. On offense, they are aggressively targeting Texas A&M wide receiver Noah Thomas and may add a running back to their roster as well.
