The Cardinals claimed left-handed reliever Bailey Horn off waivers after a short time with the Detroit Tigers, as confirmed by a team announcement. Horn will now join the Cardinals’ 40-man roster as they add depth to their bullpen for the 2025 season. He initially came to the Red Sox under chief baseball officer Craig Breslow and now reunites with former Boston executive Chaim Bloom in St. Louis.

Horn appeared in 18 games for the Red Sox in 2024, posting a 1-1 record with a 6.50 ERA. Meanwhile, Boston strengthened its bullpen by signing left-handed relievers Aroldis Chapman and Justin Wilson to start the offseason.

As noted, the Red Sox and Cardinals may continue to engage in further transactions as the offseason progresses.
