BREAKING: Bengals linebacker hit with huge fine for big hit on Steelers star running back
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt has been fined $22,511 for unnecessary roughness after using his helmet during a hit on Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris.
The incident occurred when Harris caught a pass out of the backfield, broke several tackles, and was met by Pratt, who delivered a direct hit to Harris’ helmet. Following the play, Harris remained on the ground for several minutes before being escorted off the field to be evaluated for a possible concussion.
Although no penalty was called on the field, the fine serves as an acknowledgment that the play should have resulted in a 15-yard penalty.
Pratt wasn’t the only player disciplined after this game. Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was also fined $22,511 for unnecessary roughness.
During a contested catch, Pickens grabbed the facemask of Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt as the two went to the ground, leading to the fine.
