BREAKING: Alex Bregman speaks on Betraying Astros For $168 Million Deal With AL Club.
Houston Astros infielder Alex Bregman is among the top remaining free agents this offseason, attracting strong interest from teams like the Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, and even the New York Yankees. Ryan Finkelstein of Just Baseball recently predicted Bregman could sign a six-year, $168 million deal with the Detroit Tigers.
“Bregman remains the premier third baseman on the market, drawing significant attention,” Finkelstein noted. “The Tigers are a potential landing spot, where Bregman could reunite with former manager A.J. Hinch. Adding a veteran like Bregman, with his winning background, would bolster Detroit’s effort to build on their impressive second-half push to a playoff spot in 2024. If he signs a six-year contract, his annual salary could approach $30 million rather than $25 million, though the $168 million estimate still reflects his market value.”
Bregman would be a significant asset for the Tigers, anchoring the middle of their lineup and providing leadership on and off the field. While Detroit might need to exceed $168 million to outbid large-market teams like the Red Sox, Phillies, and Blue Jays, they could make a competitive offer to secure him.
