BREAKING: Family of LSU’s Colin Hurley releases Heart-breaking news following horrific accident
LSU football faced a frightening incident early Thursday morning when freshman quarterback Colin Hurley was involved in a serious car accident. The crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. near the Baton Rouge campus, according to WBRZ News.
Following the collision, Hurley was found unresponsive. Nearly 12 hours later, his family provided an update through ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel.
“Colin would like to thank the first responders, the incredible doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Health, and the many Tiger fans for their care and compassion. Colin is resting and stable while undergoing further tests and treatment. We are confident that Colin will make a full recovery from this terrible accident,” the family’s statement concluded, adding, “Geaux Tigers!”
Hurley was driving a Dodge Charger that crashed into a tree, requiring firefighters to extract him from the vehicle, WBRZ reported. He sustained a significant facial cut in the accident.
Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 213 pounds, Hurley committed to LSU on November 4, 2022. He arrived on campus as an early enrollee for the January 2024 semester.
