BREAKING: Oregon State Lands Commitment For 6-foot-2 170 pounds Texas Safety
Oregon State has finalized their 2025 recruiting class and shifted their focus to the class of 2026 as they prepare for Spring practices.
In recent days, the Beavers have extended offers to several players, including Pearland (TX) Shadow Creek safety Carter Stewart. Stewart’s recruitment has picked up momentum, with Oregon State and Michigan State becoming the first power conference programs to offer him, with the Beavers making their move on Monday.
“It meant a lot; it feels great knowing the program sees my potential to play at the next level,” said Stewart.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 170 pounds, Stewart possesses the ideal frame for Oregon State’s secondary. His impressive performance at the Battle of Miami caught the attention of OSU coach Rod Chance, who extended the offer to the promising junior.
“I like him as a coach. We talked a lot over the phone, and I think we could connect really well,” Stewart shared.
Before receiving the offer, Stewart admitted he wasn’t very familiar with Oregon State but is eager to learn more about the program. “Honestly, I’m not very familiar with the program, but I’m definitely willing to do my research and learn about the school,” he said.
In addition to Oregon State and Michigan State, Stewart is also being heavily recruited by Oklahoma, Maryland, and Arizona State.
As a junior at Shadow Creek, Stewart tallied 21 tackles, broke up six passes, and recovered a fumble. His twin brother, Chris, is a wide receiver committed to Texas.
Oregon State has had recent success recruiting defensive backs from Texas, adding players like Blake Thompson, David Madison, and Zephen Walker last year. The coaching staff is hopeful Stewart will be the next addition.
