The Chicago Cubs have been highly active this offseason as they push to make their first playoff appearance since 2020.

In December, they made a blockbuster move by acquiring three-time All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros in exchange for All-Star infielder Isaac Paredes and two top prospects—2024 first-round pick Cam Smith and pitcher Hayden Wesneski.

Their dealings with Houston didn’t stop there. Just last week, the Cubs bolstered their bullpen by trading minor-league pitcher Juan Bello for two-time All-Star reliever Ryan Pressly.

Chicago also reinforced its rotation earlier in the offseason, signing left-hander Matthew Boyd to a two-year, $29 million contract.

In addition, they swapped prospects with the Tampa Bay Rays, sending Matt Mervis in exchange for Vidal Bruján. The Cubs also moved on from former National League MVP Cody Bellinger, trading him to the New York Yankees to clear the remaining two years and $47.5 million of his contract.

Despite their flurry of moves, the Cubs remain in the market for further upgrades.
