The NFL season has wrapped up, signaling the official start of baseball season. Although it’s still spring training, Reds fans have been eagerly anticipating this moment since Terry Francona was appointed as the new manager in October.

The Cincinnati Reds made one of the most significant moves of the offseason by persuading Francona to come out of retirement—though it seems Nick Krall and the team didn’t have to work too hard to convince him.

With Francona now at the helm, Cincinnati gains an experienced manager—something they’ve lacked since Dusty Baker was let go in 2013. Francona is highly respected across the league and is considered a future Hall of Famer. His words carry weight, which is why the Reds’ 2025 hype video is creating so much excitement.

This echoes Bill Belichick’s iconic “do your job” mantra, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the Reds took the field wearing “Go earn it” t-shirts. Francona’s words—”Before Opening Day, you’ve got to earn the right to wear our uniform”—hit hard, as well as his emphasis on playing the game the right way and with respect.

Francona also believes his team has the potential to be one of the best in baseball, with stars like Matt McLain, Spencer Steer, Hunter Greene, and Elly De La Cruz leading the charge.

At the end of the video, Francona confidently declares that the Reds have the makings of a championship team—but now, they’ve got to earn it. It’s time to get hyped, Reds fans—baseball season is here!
