Tennessee’s list of official visitors continues to expand, and June is shaping up to be a massive month for the Vols on the recruiting trail.

One of the latest additions to that list is five-star offensive tackle John Turntine III. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound lineman has already drawn offers from 35 programs and is a force in the trenches. According to 247Sports, Turntine has strong interest in Tennessee and Josh Heupel’s vision for the program. He’s set to be in Knoxville for his official visit starting June 13.

5-star OT John Turntine III will take a June official visit to Tennessee

Landing John Turntine III won’t be an easy task for Josh Heupel and his staff, as the five-star offensive tackle holds offers from top programs like Georgia, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Stanford, SMU, and Oregon, among others.

Texas and Texas A&M have already made a strong impression on the Lone Star State standout, with many analysts expecting him to stay close to home. However, Tennessee is making a compelling case, giving Turntine plenty to consider as his recruitment unfolds.

Turntine is one of the most elite prospects in the 2026 class. He’s a five-star talent, ranked as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country, the No. 1 player in Texas, and the No. 15 overall recruit nationally. With his size, skill, and upside, it’s no surprise that so many top programs are vying for his commitment.

So far, he has locked in official visits with Tennessee and Texas A&M, with more expected in the coming months. As of now, the Vols have seven known commitments for the 2026 class, including five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon. Securing a top-tier lineman like Turntine to protect Brandon throughout his SEC career would be a major win for Tennessee’s future.
