BREAKING: Virginia Tech makes Top 5 for elite Class of 2026 offensive line recruit
Virginia Tech has secured a spot in the Top 5 for a key Class of 2026 offensive line recruit who has scheduled an official visit to Blacksburg this spring. With college football recruiting heating up for the 2026 cycle, top prospects across the country are finalizing visit dates. Some will visit in April during Spring Game weekends, while others are targeting the busy June period.
The Hokies have been actively locking in visit dates for the coming months, including one for this highly sought-after offensive lineman. He recently announced his Top 5 schools, with Virginia Tech making the list alongside two ACC programs and two from the SEC.
Virginia Tech to host OL recruit Tre Aiken in June
Virginia Tech parted ways with offensive coordinator Ron Crook in December, one of three staff changes made by head coach Brent Pry. After a seven-week search, Pry brought in former West Virginia offensive line coach Matt Moore to fill the role. Moore, known for developing NFL talent, is a strong hire with a solid reputation—further proven by former Mountaineer players following him to Blacksburg.
Moore faces a significant rebuilding challenge both this season and beyond. He also has a crucial recruiting spring ahead, including the official visit of highly sought-after offensive lineman Tre Aiken from Clinton, South Carolina, from June 12-15. The Hokies are competing with Georgia Tech, NC State, Florida, and South Carolina for Aiken’s commitment.
Aiken previously visited Virginia Tech last October when the Hokies defeated Georgia Tech 21-6. According to 247Sports, he is now planning a return trip in April for the Spring Game at Lane Stadium.
In the Class of 2026, Virginia Tech currently holds a commitment from wide receiver Carnell Warren, but Aiken is undoubtedly a top priority for Matt Moore and Brent Pry. Given the Hokies’ recent recruiting success in South Carolina, they appear to have a solid chance of landing the 6-foot-3, 286-pound offensive lineman.
