Dre Quinn has received numerous scholarship offers, but one that particularly stood out to the 2026 Georgia edge rusher was Notre Dame.

“It came about a week or 10 days after the national championship game,” said Greater Atlanta Christian School head coach Tim Hardy in an interview with Irish Sports Daily.

Hardy noted how modern recruits often prioritize recent success over historical prestige. “It’s surprising how little some high school players know about the game’s history. Recent relevance plays a huge role—sometimes more than it should—but that made Notre Dame’s offer even more meaningful.”

Another factor drawing Quinn’s attention to the Irish is head coach Marcus Freeman.

“Coach Freeman’s demeanor and how he represents both himself and the university are very appealing to players and their families,” Hardy said. “That offer definitely carried weight.”

Given Quinn’s 6-foot-4, 228-pound frame and skill set, Hardy isn’t surprised top programs—including Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and USC—have extended offers.

“Dre is a gifted athlete,” Hardy said. “He’s long, fast, and explosive, which makes him highly sought after as a pass rusher. There aren’t many guys with his combination of length and speed.”

Beyond his physical abilities, Hardy emphasized Quinn’s character and work ethic.

“It may sound cliché, but he’s a great kid. He wants to do things the right way, execute his assignments, and improve. He and his family are very grounded, and those qualities set him up for success.”

Having a player like Quinn lead by example is crucial, Hardy added.

“If your best players are the hardest workers, it makes a huge difference. Dre, like any 16-year-old, is still learning to maximize his potential, but he’s got a bright future.”

As for a visit to Notre Dame, Hardy believes it’s a possibility.

“He needs to start narrowing things down. He and his family have been intentional about visiting schools that have shown interest. I’m not sure if they have specific plans for Notre Dame yet, but there was definite excitement when the offer came in. We’ll see how things unfold in the coming months.”
