NFL Analyst Suggests Bills Sign 9-Time Pro Bowler Pass Rusher to support Josh Allen in Super Bowl Race
The Buffalo Bills are once again coming off a season where they fell short to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. While the Chiefs appeared vulnerable in this year’s Super Bowl, losing 42-20 to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bills continue to seek roster improvements to overcome the obstacle of Patrick Mahomes. FanDuel TV analyst Kay Adams believes a potential key addition could come from the West Coast. On Monday’s “Up and Adams” show, she proposed that the Bills sign nine-time Pro Bowler Khalil Mack. “Do we see them take a swing on Khalil Mack? Do they bring him to Buffalo, where he played college ball? … I would love to see that. The Bills finished 18th in sacks this past season, so the pass rush surely could use a boost,” she said.

Mack, who is coming off a one-year, $20 million contract, had 39 tackles and six sacks last season. One year removed from a career-high 17 sacks, Mack boasts an impressive resume, including three All-Pro selections, the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year honor, and a spot on the Hall of Fame All-2010s team. He will be turning 34 this Saturday and is set to suit up for his fourth NFL team next season.

Mack is familiar with the Bills, having played college football at Buffalo for four years, where he set FBS records for tackles-for-loss (76) and forced fumbles (16). He registered double-digit tackles-for-loss in every season and even recorded over 20 in two of those years. In the NFL, Mack has accumulated 142 tackles-for-loss, ranking 13th in NFL history. The idea of Mack returning to Buffalo could be both fitting and beneficial, possibly providing the spark the Bills need to enhance their pass rush. Additionally, Mack’s history with Von Miller, a former AFC West rival and fellow standout linebacker, could make for a potent pairing on the field, adding further intrigue to the possibility.
