The Seattle Mariners have welcomed back a familiar face competing for a bullpen spot.

Veteran right-hander Trevor Gott has rejoined the organization on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal. Gott reported to the team’s Arizona camp on Monday morning, per Adam Jude of The Seattle Times.

The 32-year-old previously pitched for the Mariners in 2023, making 30 relief appearances in the first three months before being traded to the New York Mets alongside Chris Flexen in exchange for Zach Muckenhirn. He finished the season with a 4.19 ERA, 1.414 WHIP, and 62 strikeouts to 19 walks over 64 outings (58 innings).

Gott signed a one-year deal with the Athletics for 2024 but missed the season due to a torn UCL suffered in spring training, which required Tommy John surgery.

Originally a sixth-round pick in the 2013 MLB Draft out of Kentucky, Gott debuted in 2015 with the Angels, posting a 3.02 ERA in 48 games. He later pitched for the Nationals, Giants, and Brewers, with a Triple-A stint in 2021 before returning to the majors in 2022.

Now in Mariners camp, Gott joins fellow Tommy John surgery returnees Matt Brash and Jackson Kowar, as well as a group of experienced relievers—including Neftalí Feliz, Jesse Hahn, Casey Lawrence, and Drew Pomeranz—battling for bullpen roles.

Seattle kicked off Cactus League action last Friday and continues Monday with a 12:10 p.m. road game against the Brewers, airing live on Seattle Sports at noon.
