BREAKING: Roman Anthony Reveals Surprising Message Which Left Red Sox Fans Stunned!
The 2025 season brings heightened expectations for the Boston Red Sox. After making several roster upgrades, chief baseball officer Craig Breslow has also strengthened the team’s farm system. Several prospects have risen through the ranks, with outfielder Roman Anthony standing out the most. During spring training, Anthony spoke with MassLive’s Christopher Smith about adjusting to the major league environment.
“I think the Red Sox do a great job of introducing us early, guiding us through everything, and teaching us about playing in Boston. That’s what makes it such an exciting place—people care deeply and are always engaged,” Anthony said Saturday at JetBlue Park. “Personally, I love proving people wrong and feeding off that energy. Boston fans are passionate, no matter the team’s record,” Smith reported.

Anthony also mentioned building strong relationships with new teammates Walker Buehler and Alex Bregman. Buehler joined the rotation on a one-year deal after a standout performance with the Dodgers in the World Series. Bregman signed a three-year contract to play second base, a position he hasn’t regularly played since his time at LSU, as Rafael Devers remains the Red Sox’s third baseman. With these key additions, can Anthony, along with fellow prospects Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer, make an impact at the major league level sooner rather than later?
Can Roman Anthony make Red Sox Opening Day roster?
Anthony, Campbell, and Mayer represent the future of the Red Sox. Their teammates recognize it. Craig Breslow knows it. Manager Alex Cora understands it. Now, it’s up to the young trio to prove themselves—and so far, they’re off to a strong start. Veteran Alex Bregman has taken them under his wing, helping to guide their transition to the big leagues.

“Anthony said he has learned a lot from the veterans this spring,” wrote Christopher Smith. “He said Alex Bregman ‘has really gone out of his way to take some time and get to know’ him and Boston’s other two top prospects, Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell.”
For Breslow and Cora, these growing relationships are a promising sign. If Boston’s current core can blend seamlessly with its next wave of young talent, a return to the postseason may not be out of reach. With the offseason moves now in place, the stage is set for the Red Sox to reassert themselves under the October spotlight.
