Despite earning his first NFL MVP award, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills once again fell short in the biggest moments, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Since 2019, the Bills have been a consistent playoff team, securing postseason berths each year. However, their journey has always ended the same way—falling in the AFC playoffs and missing out on the Super Bowl.

A key figure in Buffalo’s six consecutive playoff appearances was center Mitch Morse. The former Chiefs lineman played alongside Allen from 2019 to 2023 before spending the 2024 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After a decade in the NFL, Morse has decided to retire.

“I want to thank the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars for ten unforgettable seasons,” Morse shared on Instagram. “Most of all, I want to thank my wife, Caitlin, and my children, Kennedy and Deacon, for their constant love and support on this journey. I look forward to spending more time with them as I navigate retirement.” Allen acknowledged his former teammate’s decision, reposting Morse’s announcement on his Instagram Story.

Morse, who played five seasons at Missouri, was drafted 49th overall by the Chiefs in 2015. He snapped for Alex Smith for three years before playing his final Kansas City season with Patrick Mahomes under center. He then signed with the Bills in the 2019 offseason, becoming a reliable presence on their offensive line. In 2022, he earned his first Pro Bowl selection.
