A few weeks ago, LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis chose to leave the Tigers to take on the same role with the New Orleans Saints. For the first time since making the move to work under Kellen Moore in New Orleans, Davis spoke publicly about his decision and shared his thoughts on LSU’s new defensive line coach, Kyle Williams.

“It was an opportunity that came up, and I felt it was a great fit for me and my family,” Davis said. “I love LSU, but this was a chance I couldn’t pass up, and it wasn’t far from there, so I took it.”

Davis also commented on Kyle Williams, the former LSU defensive tackle who spent 13 years in the NFL before coaching at the high school level and now joining the Tigers’ staff. Davis, who previously coached Williams as a player at LSU, expressed confidence in his successor.

“I think they’re getting a great person and a great coach,” Davis said. “This is going to be a fantastic opportunity for him. The knowledge he brings from his playing career to those young men is going to be incredible.”

Davis is widely regarded as one of the top defensive line coaches in the game. LSU made a significant investment in him, paying $1.2 million per year for his services. Now, the Saints gain a coach who can help address some of their defensive line challenges.
