BREAKING: Commanders agree to sign former Saints safety
The Washington Commanders have reached an agreement to sign former New Orleans Saints safety Will Harris.
According to NFL Network, the deal spans two years and could be worth up to $10 million.
Harris, 29, started 13 games during his only season with the Saints, recording 74 tackles and one interception. A former third-round pick by the Detroit Lions, he has totaled three interceptions over his six-year NFL career.
The Commanders were looking to fill a gap in their secondary after safety Jeremy Chinn signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday.

Harris’ versatility makes him a strong fit for Chinn’s role in head coach Dan Quinn’s defense. Throughout his career, he has played multiple positions, including linebacker and cornerback, in addition to safety.
Last season, Harris even played 112 snaps along the defensive line, per Pro Football Focus.
He becomes the second major addition for Commanders general manager Adam Peters this offseason, following the team’s three-year, $45 million agreement with former New York Jets defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw.
