BREAKING: Bills GM Brandon Beane Speaks Out On ‘Setback’ Suspension Controversy
Thursday night was rough for Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane. Once seen as one of the biggest winners of the 2025 offseason after aggressively signing key free agents like Joey Bosa, Joshua Palmer, and Michael Hoecht, the Bills are now dealing with the fallout of two top acquisitions being suspended for six games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
While the news wasn’t ideal, the team had at least been prepared for Hoecht’s situation. “You get a three-year deal with Hoecht knowing his situation,” Beane explained. “Same thing, played, been in the league five years. I think his was earlier, and we were made aware of it. There is a thing we can get with the league, that we can find out the status. His status we knew, and we talked it through with his agents.”

Ogunjobi’s case was different. The Bills signed the former Steelers defensive tackle without knowing a suspension was looming. However, Beane praised Ogunjobi for his honesty when he found out.

“I give him credit because it’s early in the process. The league doesn’t even know about it, the way it’s done by an independent group. He was very forthright. Larry, he was Pittsburgh’s Man of the Year, like, he’s a good man. He’s played eight years in the league and never had a blip. That’s obviously frustrating for him and a little bit of a setback for us. But we’ve talked it through,” Beane said.
Despite the setback, the Bills remain committed to both players and are moving full speed ahead toward the 2025 season.
