BREAKING: Buffalo Bills To Bring Back Former $100 Million Wide Receiver After Landing Free Agency
In 2020, the Dallas Cowboys secured wide receiver Amari Cooper with a five-year, $100 million contract. However, in 2022, they traded Cooper to the Cleveland Browns. Then, in the 2024 season, the Browns dealt the five-time Pro Bowler to the Buffalo Bills. The trade saw Buffalo receiving Cooper along with a 2025 sixth-round pick, while Cleveland got a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick.

Thanks to the Browns restructuring Cooper’s hefty contract, which involved paying much of it upfront, the Bills only needed to cover his remaining base salary at the veteran’s minimum. Although Cooper didn’t make a significant impact in Buffalo, he’s still regarded as one of the top free agents this offseason.

Despite a recent 1,250-yard season just a year ago, Cooper is rumored to have interest from several teams. However, NBC Sports analyst Matthew Berry sparked a reaction when he shared a surprising remark about the 30-year-old veteran.

On March 14, a Commanders blog speculated about Cooper’s potential fit in Washington, prompting Berry to respond, “Amari is done. That’s not me talking. That’s from an offensive coach of a former team of his I spoke to at the Combine.” The fan account responded with, “Whoa. Alrighty then! Withdrawn.” But many fans sought clarification, with one asking, “Unclear comment by Berry—Is he saying he is done because he is retiring or done in terms of skills to play?” Another fan inquired, “When you say ‘Done’—in what way? Injuries?”
