BREAKING: Giants Receives Unfortunate News That Left Fans Devastated
San Francisco Giants outfielder Lee Jung-hoo is set to undergo an MRI on his back this week, just days before the start of his second MLB season.
According to MLB.com, Lee was scheduled for the imaging exam later Monday (U.S. local time) after being scratched from Saturday’s game due to back discomfort. His tightness persisted longer than expected, leading the Giants to order further testing.

The Giants begin their season on March 27 against the Cincinnati Reds. Manager Bob Melvin remains optimistic that Lee can be ready for Opening Day if he can play in upcoming spring training games in Scottsdale, Arizona, or late exhibition matchups at Oracle Park next week.

“This has obviously lasted longer than we expected, but hopefully, we get good news today,” Melvin told MLB.com. “If he can play here or at home, we’re fine.”
Lee appeared in just 37 games last season before a season-ending shoulder injury. This spring, he had been hitting .300 with two home runs, five RBIs, and a .967 OPS in 12 games before being sidelined.
