Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has consistently shown humility in his interactions with reporters, often taking responsibility after wins and crediting his teammates in the process. Therefore, it wasn’t unexpected when, during the peak moment of his career — winning the historic MVP award at the end of last season — he maintained that same demeanor. In his acceptance speech, Allen expressed gratitude to everyone in the organization, finishing with a line that has since become beloved by Bills fans. This week, the team revealed that it will commemorate Allen’s memorable phrase.

Bills Make Big Move With Josh Allen Quote

Josh Allen secured the league MVP title after a tight competition with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Allen had been considered the MVP frontrunner for much of the season but fell behind when Jackson earned first-team All-Pro honors. However, Allen managed to sway enough votes to claim the MVP award, making history as the third player and first quarterback in franchise history to win the honor. During his acceptance speech, Allen expressed gratitude to everyone in the organization who contributed to his success.

“I know this is an individual award and it says Most Valuable Player on it, but I think it’s derived from team success and I love my team,” Allen said, as reported by SI.com.

He thanked several people, including his fiancée Hailee Steinfeld, before concluding with a memorable line:

“Be good, do good, God bless and go Bills,” Allen said while holding his trophy.

On March 24, the Bills announced that fans could now wear the famous phrase, offering an official t-shirt with the slogan. The team shared the design on X and even added the quote to the top of its bio on the platform.

Josh Allen Already Cashed In on Award

The MVP award served as a bit of consolation for Josh Allen, who fell just short of reaching the Super Bowl after the Bills lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. However, Allen received another reward, with ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg reporting that he earned a significant contract boost following his MVP win.

“Josh Allen also receives a $1.5 million roster bonus for being named MVP,” Getzenberg shared on X.

Allen had an outstanding season, leading the Bills to a 13-4 record and securing a fifth consecutive AFC East title. He accounted for 42 total touchdowns, throwing for 3,731 yards with 28 passing touchdowns and adding 531 rushing yards with several rushing touchdowns. One of the season’s highlights came when Allen caught a lateral from wide receiver Amari Cooper and sprinted into the end zone for a memorable touchdown in a win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite his remarkable season, Allen expressed surprise at winning the MVP over Lamar Jackson.

“Yeah, I was pretty surprised given what we know about, typically, how the voting goes,” Allen said, via USA Today. “Lamar was very deserving of this award as well. I have nothing but love and respect for him and his game.”
