The Buffalo Bills’ offense was among the league’s best last season, driven by Joe Brady’s “everybody eats” philosophy, which helped Josh Allen deliver his finest campaign yet, culminating in an MVP award. However, the unit lacked a true No. 1 receiver after Stefon Diggs departed for the Houston Texans. While the offense performed well in 2024 without him, it still needs more firepower. To address this, Buffalo signed Josh Palmer to a three-year deal in free agency, adding much-needed speed and a deep threat for Allen. But could they add another weapon?

Bleacher Report suggests the Bills should consider drafting Utah State’s Jalen Royals, a speedy playmaker, to further elevate their offense. “Draft a speedy deep threat like Jalen Royals and watch Josh Allen go from a dynamic MVP quarterback to a record-breaking passer in an electric offense,” Bleacher Report notes. With 4.42 speed, Royals possesses home-run potential. In 2023, he recorded 1,080 yards and 15 touchdowns, followed by 834 yards and six scores in just seven games last year before a foot injury cut his season short—making his health something to monitor.

If Buffalo selects Royals, he would join an offense featuring Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Palmer, Keon Coleman, Dawson Knox, and Dalton Kincaid. While this depth could limit his opportunities, Brady would likely find creative ways to utilize him beyond a gadget role. Though he may not be a high draft selection, Royals could provide great value in the later rounds, offering Allen another explosive weapon on the outside.
