UNC basketball commit stands out at McDonald’s All-American practice
A UNC basketball commit received recognition over the weekend.
North Carolina is bringing in a three-player recruiting class for 2025, a crucial addition as the program looks to rebound from a disappointing season. Leading the group is five-star forward Caleb Wilson, who chose the Tar Heels over Kentucky, Ohio State, and Georgia Tech.
Wilson’s commitment helped UNC break into the top 10 of the 2025 team recruiting rankings, and he is the only Tar Heel in this class to earn McDonald’s All-American honors. With the event taking place this week, practices have begun, and Wilson is already making an impression.

After the first day of practice, On3’s Jamie Shaw ranked Wilson No. 6 among the top performers. The 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward is ranked ninth nationally, the No. 4 power forward, and the top player in Georgia, according to 247Sports.

As UNC looks to turn things around, this recruiting class will play a key role, with Wilson expected to be a major contributor.
