BREAKING: Ex-Bills Cornerback Drops Cryptic Hint About Return to Buffalo
Rasul Douglas may be looking to rejoin the Buffalo Bills this offseason. After spending a season and a half with the team, primarily as a starter, the cornerback became a free agent. With a gap in their secondary following his departure, Douglas has hinted that he could be willing to return to the Bills to help fill that void.
Another Bills Player Pushing for Rasul Douglas to Return
Rasul Douglas joined the Buffalo Bills just before the 2023 trade deadline, quickly securing a starting spot and making an impact on defense. While he faced some coverage challenges, Douglas started 15 games and recorded 58 tackles, becoming a key player in the secondary.
Cornerback Christian Benford has been advocating for Douglas’ return, referring to him as “my brother” and mentioning that they stay in close contact during the offseason. Benford expressed his hope to see Douglas back in the secondary for the 2025 season, a sentiment Douglas seemed to share. After Benford posted a video about their strong relationship and desire for a reunion, Douglas responded cryptically, hinting at his openness to a return with the phrase “Brudda brudda” and a crossed-fingers emoji.

The Bills have also shown interest in bringing Douglas back. General manager Brandon Beane told reporters that the team is keeping the door open for both Douglas and veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper. Beane, known for re-signing former players, has brought back multiple familiar faces, including Jordan Phillips and Dane Jackson, who returned after stints with other teams.
Jackson, who came back to the Bills this offseason after a year with the Panthers, could potentially fill the role left by Kaiir Elam, whom the Bills traded to the Dallas Cowboys earlier this offseason after Elam struggled to carve out a significant role with the team.

Bills Could Add Youth to the Secondary
While the possibility of Rasul Douglas returning to the Buffalo Bills is still open, some analysts believe the team may look to add younger talent to the cornerback position this offseason. CBS Sports reporter Peter Prisco suggested that the Bills could select Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston with their first-round pick, praising Hairston as a strong fit for the team’s defensive scheme.
Prisco highlighted Hairston’s versatility, noting that he excels in man-to-man coverage and is also a physical tackler. “When I watch Hairston’s tape, he’s a guy that not only can cover in man-to-man situations, but he’s willing to go hit you,” Prisco said on One Bills Live. “That’s something that you don’t see a lot, and I know the Bills are big on their corners being able to tackle.”
