UNC’s Seth Trimble Makes Final Decision on College Basketball Future
The North Carolina Tar Heels recently experienced some significant losses in the transfer portal, as former blue-chip recruits Ian Jackson and Elliot Cadeau left the program.
With head coach Hubert Davis and his staff working to replace key talent, they awaited decisions from other players on the roster.

While standout guard RJ Davis has used up his NCAA eligibility, backcourt contributor Seth Trimble has chosen to return. According to Joe Tipton, Trimble has announced he’ll be back at UNC for his senior season.

As a junior, Trimble averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. In UNC’s only NCAA Tournament appearance — a first-round loss to Ole Miss — he contributed nine points and four rebounds.
Trimble made major strides during his junior year, posting career-highs across the board. His return is a significant boost for Davis as he prepares for the 2025 season. Once a top-tier recruit, Trimble is expected to be a cornerstone for what could be a retooled roster.
