Hailey Van Lith’s college career had its share of highs and lows, but her lone season at TCU ended on just about the highest note possible. After a tough stint trying to find her role on a stacked LSU team, Van Lith became the driving force behind a breakout year for a TCU program with a history of limited success. She helped lead the Horned Frogs to a school-record 34 wins, surpassing the previous best of 25, and played a key role in securing their first-ever Big 12 Tournament title. TCU also earned a No. 2 seed—the highest in program history—in the NCAA Tournament and made it to the Elite Eight for the first time.

Van Lith, who earned All-American honors, led the team in scoring (17.9 points), assists (5.4), and steals (1.2) per game, a performance that significantly boosted her WNBA draft stock. Her departure leaves big shoes to fill for head coach Mark Campbell. Fortunately for TCU, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the team landed Notre Dame transfer Olivia Miles, ranked as the No. 2 player in the transfer portal by ESPN.

Ironically, TCU ended Miles’ season by eliminating the Fighting Irish in the Sweet 16, but that doesn’t take away from her strong performance.

Despite dealing with injuries, Miles averaged 15.5 points and a team-best 5.8 assists per game, earning her second AP All-American nod and third All-ACC selection. While replacing Van Lith won’t be easy, adding a talent like Miles certainly gives TCU a strong shot at maintaining its momentum.
