BREAKING: Gophers Receives Most Exciting Transfer Portal Commit News
Less than a month into his tenure as head coach of the Minnesota Gophers men’s basketball team, Niko Medved has wasted no time shaping the roster for the 2025-26 season—starting from a foundation as empty as a Great Depression-era pantry.
Medved began by retaining a couple of promising young perimeter players from Ben Johnson’s roster. From there, he bolstered the backcourt with a series of guard and wing additions, ultimately landing three commitments from the transfer portal.
Just last week, Minnesota secured its first significant frontcourt piece for the upcoming season, before Medved pivoted back to the backcourt—this time landing what looks like his most exciting portal addition yet.
Minnesota Gophers land Langston Reynolds
Langston Reynolds, a 6’4″, 200-pound guard from Northern Colorado, is bringing serious energy to the Minnesota Gophers. The Denver native is coming off a breakout junior season where he averaged 16 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game — all while putting together one of the most electric in-season dunk highlight reels you’ll ever see.

It’s no shock that Minnesota wasn’t the only Power Four program after him. Reynolds had been on Texas A&M’s radar until Buzz Williams left for Maryland, which gave Niko Medved the perfect opportunity to step in and seal the deal. Reynolds committed to the Gophers on Sunday.
If you watch his highlights, he looks like a grown man playing among kids — with vicious crossovers, explosive dunks, and flashy no-look passes. And the stats back it up. What’s particularly impressive is that 2024-25 was Reynolds’ first season as a full-time starter — logging 34 starts after barely seeing the court his first two years (just 2 starts, 15 minutes per game, and 4.2 points per contest).
So what changed? Simply put: hard work. His leap speaks volumes, and Gophers fans have every reason to be fired up about this addition.
