BREAKING: TCU women’s basketball lands Another Big transfer News
Expanding the frontcourt has clearly become a top offseason focus for TCU women’s basketball head coach Mark Campbell, as the program continues to add size with the recent commitment of Arizona State transfer Kennedy Basham. The 6-foot-7 junior from Phoenix, Arizona, announced her decision to join the Horned Frogs on Sunday evening. During the 2024-25 season with the Sun Devils, Basham averaged 5.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game. She becomes the second 6-foot-7 player to commit to TCU through the portal this offseason, joining former Kentucky center Clara Silva, and is the program’s fifth transfer addition overall.
Basham began her college career at Oregon, appearing in 47 games with 24 starts before transferring to Arizona State. In her lone season with the Sun Devils, she played in 32 games and started 25, shooting 42.9 percent from the floor and 36.4 percent from three.
Her addition is part of a major roster overhaul as the Horned Frogs aim to build on their remarkable 34-4 campaign, which included Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles and the program’s first-ever Elite Eight appearance.
Despite the departure of 6-foot-7 center Sedona Prince, who declared for the 2025 WNBA Draft, TCU is expected to have four players standing 6-foot-7 or taller on its 2025-26 roster. Along with Basham and Silva, the Horned Frogs have also signed 6-foot-7 center Emily Hunter from Nolensville, Tennessee, and 6-foot-8 center Sarah Portlock from Victoria, Australia.
