Hailey Van Lath’s Wild Reaction To NBA Player Boyfriend Jalen Suggs After Being Drafted to Chicago Sky Sparks Controversy To TCU Fans
Hailey Van Lith and Jalen Suggs shared a heartwarming moment during the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Van Lith, 23, was chosen 11th overall by the Chicago Sky on April 14. The former TCU Horned Frogs standout will reunite with Angel Reese—her LSU teammate during the 2023-24 season.
Following her selection, Van Lith was seen on the ESPN broadcast hugging her parents before stepping onto the stage to meet WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert and receive her jersey.
But a keen-eyed video later shared by Yahoo Sports on X captured an even more personal moment: Van Lith shared a sweet kiss with boyfriend Jalen Suggs, also 23. In the clip, Suggs—who was drafted fifth overall by the Orlando Magic in 2021—was seen clapping and waiting for her near a camera setup before they embraced.

Although the couple has largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight amid dating rumors that began in 2021, Van Lith confirmed to PEOPLE on the WNBA Draft’s orange carpet in New York City that Suggs is indeed her boyfriend.
She also reacted to a viral clip from March Madness, which showed Suggs and her father, Corey Van Lith (a former college basketball and baseball player), passionately celebrating TCU’s win over Notre Dame. Hailey said the moment was a bit embarrassing but also very true to who they are.
“I was shaking my head when I saw it,” she laughed. “But I love it—it’s just who they are. I’m glad the world got to see their excitement.” While she admitted her dad occasionally gives off “embarrassing dad vibes,” she added, “I let him be himself—for sure.”
