After picking up Missouri State transfer Michael Teason, TCU continued its momentum on the recruiting trail by landing another transfer portal addition in Cal safety Ryan Yaites on Monday.
A former four-star prospect from Denton Guyer in the 2023 class, Yaites originally signed with LSU, where he notched 16 tackles as a freshman before transferring to Cal.
At Cal, Yaites played under current TCU safeties coach Tre Watson, appearing in 12 games and tallying 16 tackles, one pass breakup, and a quarterback hurry.
His arrival adds needed depth to a safety group that recently lost Kollin Collier to the transfer portal. Yaites will have two years of eligibility remaining.
