TCU football strengthened its roster with a key addition from the transfer portal on Monday. Missouri State linebacker Michael Teason announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs via social media. Teason earned FCS Freshman All-America second-team honors from Phil Steele after recording 51 tackles (22 solo), 7.0 tackles for loss, one sack, and two fumble recoveries.
He played in 12 games, making four starts. After redshirting in 2023, Teason will be a redshirt sophomore in 2025. His addition brings needed depth to a linebacker group that boasts talent but lacks experienced players.

This spring, Namdi Obiazor, Kaleb Elarms-Orr, and Max Carroll were standouts, while the depth behind them consisted mainly of Hudson Hooper and true freshmen like Anthony Williams and Dillon Arkansas.

Teason is expected to compete with Hooper for a spot on the second-team defense this fall. He is TCU’s second spring transfer addition, joining offensive lineman Dylan Kinney from Abilene Christian.
