Alabama basketball secured a key addition from the transfer portal on Wednesday, landing a commitment from former Tarleton State forward Keitenn Bristow.
“Built by grit, driven by heart,” Bristow shared on social media. “I’m all in. Roll Tide, let’s make history.”
Bristow averaged 11.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for Tarleton in the 2024–25 season. The 6-foot-8, 190-pound forward entered the portal after a standout freshman campaign, during which he earned WAC Freshman of the Year honors.
Coming out of Holliday High School in Texas, Bristow was a three-star prospect, a ranking that remained consistent in the portal per 247Sports. He drew recruiting interest from Missouri State, Arizona State, and Morehead State.

Tarleton State ended its season with a 12-20 record and a first-round exit in the WAC tournament against Cal Baptist.
Bristow is now the fourth transfer to join Alabama this offseason, joining Bucknell’s Noah Williamson, Florida State’s Taylor Bol Bowen, and Miami’s Jalil Bethea.
The Crimson Tide will have to reload after losing several key players from their 2024–25 Elite Eight squad, including Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, Cliff Omoruyi, and Chris Youngblood. Labaron Philon has declared for the NBA Draft but may still return. Alabama also lost Naas Cunningham (UNLV), Mo Dioubate (Kentucky), Jarin Stevenson (North Carolina), and Derrion Reid to the portal.
Head coach Nate Oats is bringing in three freshmen along with the transfer additions as Alabama looks to bounce back after its Elite Eight loss to Duke and pursue another Final Four run.
