Cincinnati Reds rookie Tyler Callihan endured a tough break — literally — while making an all-out effort in left field against the Braves. The 24-year-old suffered a fractured forearm during a diving attempt to catch a deep fly ball from Matt Olson in the third inning. Callihan sprinted toward the wall, extended fully, and briefly appeared to have the ball, but his momentum carried him hard into the wall, causing the ball to come loose and resulting in the painful injury.

Medical staff quickly attended to Callihan as he held his arm in visible agony, and the game was paused while he was assisted off the field.

Later that evening, the Reds confirmed the forearm fracture.

The injury is a major setback for Callihan, who had recently been called up and was making the most of his opportunity with relentless effort and enthusiasm. His presence had quickly become a spark for the team, and his absence will be felt both on the field and in the dugout.

Wishing Tyler a speedy and complete recovery.
