The Oklahoma Sooners have ended their 100-day drought in recruiting by securing safety Niko Jandreau for their 2026 class. Jandreau made his commitment public on social media, choosing OU over offers from USC, Washington, Missouri, and Georgia Tech.
Ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, Jandreau is the No. 107 safety nationally and the No. 17 prospect in Arizona. Last season, he tallied 96 tackles, 11 for a loss, along with two passes defended and a forced fumble in 11 games.
Describing his style of play, Jandreau said, “I’m very aggressive. I like to hit. I like to hit a lot. Very aggressive.” He also noted his focus on refining his technique, stating his determination to be the best player he can be.
Known for his versatility, Jandreau can play multiple positions, including safety, nickel, and linebacker, making him a perfect fit for Oklahoma’s needs. His combination of talent, flexibility, and strong character aligns with the qualities OU looks for in recruits.
Brandon Hall, a key coach for Oklahoma, was instrumental in identifying Jandreau early, with OU being his seventh offer at the time. Hall and the Sooners maintained a strong presence in his recruitment.
Though Jandreau’s commitment was anticipated later in the year, after productive talks in mid-May, he decided to make his decision early. Oklahoma now has five commits for the 2026 class, with Jandreau becoming the first defensive pledge. Niko is also the brother of Beau Jandreau, a 2026 three-star linebacker who is also being pursued by Oklahoma. Both brothers will visit OU on June 20th. Jandreau’s addition could significantly boost the Sooners’ recruiting efforts moving forward.
