The Texas Longhorns added another important piece to their 2026 secondary class with the commitment of Yaheim Riley on Friday.
A product of Austin Anderson High School, Riley held 18 offers this cycle, including ones from TCU, Texas Tech, and Ole Miss. He’s scheduled to visit Texas on June 13, following a trip to Vanderbilt the previous week.
Riley first visited Texas during a summer camp last year but initially committed to Houston in December. After revisiting the Forty Acres and receiving an offer in late March, he reopened his recruitment about a month ago.

A consensus three-star athlete, Riley excels in three sports—football, basketball, and track—and plays on both sides of the ball for Anderson. In his junior season, his first after transferring from LBJ, he posted 80 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack, three interceptions, six pass breakups, two receptions for 34 yards and two touchdowns, plus a punt return touchdown.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Riley ranks No. 67 among safeties and No. 775 overall in the 247Sports Composite. He joins a deep safety room at Texas that includes recent five-star and high four-star additions, giving him time to develop while learning from standout players like Jonah Williams and Xavier Filsaime.
Riley becomes the eighth commit in Texas’ 2026 class, joining fellow defensive back Hayward Howard Jr., who also committed last Friday, and athlete Jermaine Bishop Jr., who projects as a cornerback. The Longhorns’ class currently ranks No. 25 nationally in the 247Sports Composite, anchored by a pair of five-star prospects.
