BREAKING: Rangers duo emerges as front-runners for AL All-Star honors

The Texas Rangers’ 2025 season hasn’t unfolded as hoped. The offense has been largely underwhelming, and the bullpen has delivered inconsistent results. However, the starting rotation has been a steady bright spot—particularly thanks to Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi.

These veteran pitchers were brought in for their experience navigating high-stakes playoff pushes. They’ve endured the highs and lows of long seasons, from injuries to crucial wins and losses. And impressively, both are arguably delivering the best performances of their careers.

Despite the team’s overall struggles, deGrom and Eovaldi have pitched consistently well, drawing significant attention. According to Manny Randhawa of MLB.com, both are considered front-runners to represent the American League in the All-Star Game.

Jacob DeGrom and Nathan Eovaldi just gave Rangers fans a reason to smile

When it comes to making the case for Jacob deGrom, the writer emphasized what Rangers fans already understand well: deGrom’s talent has never been in doubt—the real question has always been his durability over a full season. So far in 2025, he’s held up well on that front.

There was a bit of concern after his Memorial Day start against the Toronto Blue Jays, which marked the first time in his career he didn’t record a single strikeout. But deGrom reassured everyone afterward, saying he felt fine, just didn’t have his best stuff that day.

As for Nathan Eovaldi, the focus is on consistency. One MLB analyst noted:

“[Jesus] Luzardo (2.15) and Eovaldi (1.60) tied for fifth in our second team balloting. The former has always had tremendous stuff but he’s putting it all together in 2025. The latter has proven his mettle as one of the best starters in baseball over the past several years.”

Some Rangers fans may question the importance of All-Star recognition in a season that feels like it’s slipping away. Still, All-Star selections are meaningful honors—and with the kind of standout seasons deGrom and Eovaldi are having, their performances are worth celebrating, even if the team’s results aren’t.
