Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been named the 2025 BET Sportswoman of the Year, marking her third straight win of the award.
Reese accepted the honor during Monday night’s BET Awards in Los Angeles, earning the title over a competitive field that included A’ja Wilson, Claressa Shields, Coco Gauff, Dawn Staley, Flau’jae Johnson, Juju Watkins, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Simone Biles.
With this third win, Reese becomes the first athlete since Serena Williams to claim the BET Sportswoman of the Year award three times.
She first received the accolade in 2023 after leading LSU to its first NCAA women’s basketball championship and won again in 2024 following her standout rookie season with the Sky, where she finished as the WNBA Rookie of the Year runner-up.
Now in her second year in the league and coming off season-ending wrist surgery, Reese is averaging 9.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals through seven games for Chicago in 2025.
On the men’s side, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named BET Sportsman of the Year for the second time in three years, following his Super Bowl victory in February.
