The Los Angeles Rams have announced plans to honor the legendary Aaron Donald on Sunday, November 23, during their Sunday Night Football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which kicks off at 5:20 p.m. PT. The celebration will feature a special halftime tribute recognizing Donald’s remarkable career.

As part of the festivities, the first 60,000 fans entering the stadium will receive a limited-edition Aaron Donald bobblehead.

“Aaron Donald is one of the greatest players to ever wear a Rams uniform,” said Rams General Manager Les Snead. “We’re excited to join our fans in showing our appreciation for everything he’s done for this team, this city, and the game of football. Honoring him on the field where he helped secure our Super Bowl victory will be incredibly special.”

Widely regarded as the greatest player in franchise history and among the top defenders in NFL history, Donald spent his entire 10-year career with the Rams. Over that span, he earned 10 Pro Bowl selections, eight First-Team All-Pro honors, and three Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Donald played in two Super Bowls with the Rams, winning Super Bowl LVI in February 2022. He became just the second defensive tackle in league history to surpass 100 career sacks, finishing with 111. He retired following the 2023 season, still performing at an elite level, having earned First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors while leading the Rams to an unexpected playoff appearance after an injury-filled 2022.

Donald’s legacy with the Rams is monumental. While he is sure to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer and have his jersey retired in the future, the team is already set to honor his legendary impact with a well-deserved celebration.

The Los Angeles Rams have announced they will honor Aaron Donald’s legendary career with a special halftime tribute on Sunday, November 23, during their Sunday Night Football matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which kicks off at 5:20 p.m. PT. “Aaron Donald is one of the greatest Rams of all time, and we’re thrilled to celebrate his legacy alongside our fans,” said Rams General Manager Les Snead. “It’s fitting to honor him on the same field where he clinched our Super Bowl victory.”

Donald is widely regarded as not only the greatest player in Rams history but also one of the most dominant defenders in NFL history. Over his 10-season career—all spent with the Rams—he earned 10 Pro Bowl selections, eight First-Team All-Pro honors, and won Defensive Player of the Year three times. He played in two Super Bowls with the team, helping them win Super Bowl LVI in February 2022.

He retired following the 2023 season with 111 career sacks, becoming just the second defensive tackle ever to surpass 100. Even in his final year, Donald remained elite, earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors and helping the Rams return to the playoffs after a tough 2022 season.

Aaron Donald return: Why he can't return to Rams in 2024

Donald’s influence on the Rams is immeasurable, and while his Hall of Fame induction and jersey retirement are only a matter of time, the team is already preparing a well-deserved tribute to one of football’s all-time greats.

Meanwhile, Donald is still making an impression off the field — especially in the weight room.

Rams defensive end Jared Verse, known for his confidence and trash talk, found out firsthand what makes Donald a generational talent. After challenging the retired star to a workout competition, claiming he was stronger, Verse got his chance to prove it.

But Donald — even a year into retirement — is still a physical force unmatched by most. The two met for a workout session, and it didn’t take long for Verse to realize he was out of his depth. What started as playful competition quickly turned into a humbling experience, as the young star learned a critical lesson: don’t challenge a legend in his own arena.
