On Wednesday, the Detroit Tigers received devastating news amid an otherwise impressive season.

Pitcher Jackson Jobe will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the remainder of the 2025 campaign, the team announced through Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press.

Jobe, 22, finishes his year with a 4-1 record, a 4.22 ERA, and 39 strikeouts over 49 innings.

The Tigers, sitting at 44-24 and holding the best record in baseball by a half-game over the Mets, have leaned heavily on a dominant rotation—Jobe being the only member of the top five starters with an ERA above 4.00.

Jobe had limited appearances late in 2024, throwing four innings during the regular season and 1 2/3 in the postseason.
