The Philadelphia Flyers have announced the acquisition of center Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks. In return, the Flyers are sending forward Ryan Poehling, the 45th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, and a fourth-round pick in 2026 to Anaheim, per General Manager Daniel Briere.
Zegras, 24, was selected ninth overall by the Ducks in the 2019 NHL Draft and has played the past five seasons (2020–2025) with Anaheim. The 6-foot, 185-pound center has totaled 67 goals and 119 assists for 186 points across 268 career NHL games. He was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2022 and posted back-to-back 60-point campaigns in 2021–22 and 2022–23. During the 2022–23 season, he led Anaheim in points (65), goals (23), game-winning goals (3), and overtime goals.

In the 2024–25 season, Zegras tallied 12 goals and 32 points in 57 games, ranking fifth on the team in points per game (0.56) and ninth in total points.
Before becoming a full-time NHL player, Zegras played part of the 2020–21 season with the San Diego Gulls (AHL), recording 10 goals and 21 points in 17 regular-season games, plus 3 points in 3 playoff appearances. He also played at Boston University during the 2019–20 season, producing 11 goals and 25 assists for 36 points in 33 games.

A native of Bedford, New York, Zegras has represented Team USA in five international events, most recently at the 2024 World Championships where he had a goal and an assist over eight games. He was also a standout in the 2020 and 2021 World Junior Championships, winning gold in 2021 and earning MVP honors with 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists) in seven games.
