Paige Bueckers has wasted no time adjusting to the WNBA with the Dallas Wings.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft is already staking her claim for Rookie of the Year, averaging 18.4 points, 5.8 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.9 blocks across her first 13 games — all team highs.
Her leap to the pros came swiftly. Just eight days after winning the 2024-25 NCAA championship with UConn, Bueckers was drafted by Dallas, seamlessly carrying her momentum from college into the league. While her on-court transition has been smooth, her social media didn’t catch up right away — until this weekend.

With a break in the Wings’ schedule following a Friday-Saturday back-to-back, Bueckers took advantage of the downtime to update her Instagram. On Sunday, she posted a photo carousel, shared several stories, and made a notable change to her profile picture.
Previously, her profile image showed her in a UConn jersey. As of Sunday, her 2.7 million followers now see her repping the Wings — a shift that caught the attention of fans, especially UConn supporters.

“paige pfp change omg,” one fan posted on X.
“Paige changed her insta pfp it’s the end of an era,” another added.
“I really thought paige was going to keep her UConn pfp like lili and dorka,” wrote a surprised Huskies fan, referencing former teammates Aaliyah Edwards and Dorka Juhász.
Despite the update, Bueckers’ love for UConn remains unchanged. Back in April, shortly after declaring for the WNBA Draft, she shared her appreciation for the school in a heartfelt post.
“Storrs, Connecticut will always be my second home and I wouldn’t trade it for the world,” she wrote. “I’m forever indebted and all I can say is THANK YOU.”
