Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers is embracing Texas life while missing her close friend and girlfriend, UConn star Azzi Fudd, who’s currently on a family cruise.
Fudd couldn’t be there to support Bueckers in person, but the two still connected over FaceTime—Fudd even shared a sweet photo of their video call, where she was surprised to see Bueckers fully decked out in cowboy gear, showing off her Texas spirit.
The duo, both former UConn standouts, were known for their close bond on and off the court—whether leading the Huskies to their first national title since 2016, dancing on TikTok, or starring in a pink-themed Oreo ad. After the season, Bueckers went No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft to Dallas, with Fudd cheering her on in a stunning glam look and a sleek black dress at the after-party.
Fudd has since attended Wings games, once stealing the spotlight when Bueckers returned to Connecticut and later posing in a Bueckers jersey. She playfully “betrayed” Paige by wearing a Washington Mystics jersey courtside—but it was her phone case that really made headlines, reading: “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend.”
Now enjoying her cruise with family, Fudd posted several vacation pics—capping it off with that memorable FaceTime call with Bueckers, who’s clearly all-in on her new Texas identity.
