The Dallas Wings reshaped the direction of their franchise when they selected former UConn standout Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Much like Caitlin Clark’s arrival in Indiana the year prior, Bueckers entered the league as a widely recognized star—and she’s delivered on every bit of that promise.

Despite the Wings’ struggles in the win column, Bueckers has been a consistent force throughout her rookie campaign, giving Dallas a franchise cornerstone to build around for the future. She’s expected to play a major role in helping turn things around.

On Monday, the WNBA spotlighted Bueckers with a big announcement on social media, revealing that she had been named the league’s Rookie of the Month for July.

“Paige Bueckers of the @DallasWings is your @Kia Rookie of the Month AGAIN,” the WNBA posted. “Bueckers went off for 18.2 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 5.2 APG in the month of July to earn her 2nd consecutive ROTM honors.”

Through 23 games this season, Bueckers is averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from deep.
